DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

Review the structure and assembly

  • Identify snap locations and mating parts on the part and assembly drawings.
  • Check retention and contact requirements with the mating parts before finalizing the geometry.
  • Agree on removal motions and tool clearance before ordering samples.

DRAWINGS & REQUIREMENTS

Information to provide with your drawing

  • Part and assembly drawings showing snap locations and mating parts, with units and revision details.
  • Dimensions and mating-part information for retention and contact requirements.
  • Requirements for removal motions and tool clearance, together with sample and batch quantities.

Sampling before production

Agree on the drawing, manufacturing route and sample scope first. Use the sample to check fit, assembly and the tests required by your project, then confirm the production drawing, inspection plan and packaging.

Samples are paid. Standard samples: 3–5 days. Expedited sampling: 48 hours. Tooling and sample production: 7–10 days. These are sample-stage timings and do not include mass-production delivery; availability and the schedule are confirmed for each project.

TOOLING & SAMPLE VALIDATION

Tooling decisions behind
Snap-Fit EMI Shield.

Ruishuo makes tooling in-house, connecting die design and CAD/CAM simulation with stamping and inspection. The tooling route for your part is reviewed against the agreed drawing, material and assembly requirements.

Develop the frame and lid as a mating pair.

For a two-piece or removable shield, the tooling review includes the interface between the frame and lid. A lid that matches the nominal outline may still need adjustment at its engagement points. Sample review should therefore cover the assembled pair, with any removal and retention requirements agreed for the intended use.

  • Define frame seating, lid overlap and engagement locations on the drawing.
  • Specify the mating component and any required insertion, removal or retention checks.
  • Confirm access requirements and edge conditions before accepting the sample pair.

Use the sample report to close the drawing review.

Paid samples include a full dimensional inspection report. Ruishuo's inspection equipment includes 2.5D vision measurement systems, CMMs and profile projectors; measurement methods and any additional functional checks are selected for the project. Incoming, in-process and outgoing inspections support the agreed requirements as the part moves into production.
