Include quality requirements in the released specification
Define the material, drawing revision, critical dimensions, assembly requirements and acceptance criteria. Management-system certificates, compliance documents and part inspection records address different aspects of a procurement review.
Ruishuo Metal's quality workflow includes incoming, in-process and outgoing inspection. Inspection tasks and the scope of document delivery are agreed at sample and order confirmation.
Select inspection tasks for the project
Dimensions, fit, coating and other performance requirements need appropriate measurement methods. For critical dimensions, specify the datum and acceptance method so measurements use a consistent basis.
Project inspection can be discussed around vision measurement, CMM, profile projection, coating-thickness measurement, salt-spray testing and force measurement. The required tests and their scope should be agreed for the specific part.
| Inspection area | What to agree |
|---|---|
| Dimensions and fit | Datums, measurement methods, critical dimensions and tolerances |
| Surface finish | Treatment requirements, inspection tasks and acceptance criteria |
| Assembly and contacts | Mating parts, installed conditions and inspection tasks |
| Environmental or system testing | Conditions, methods and applicable scope |
Read certificates and reports against their scope
ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management documents, together with RoHS, SVHC, TSCA and California Prop 65 materials, support procurement verification. Check the organization, product or material scope stated in each document.
List project-specific compliance requirements in the inquiry. Published documents should be considered alongside the validation required for the part's material, operating environment and system conditions.
Carry sample approval into production
Agree on the sample validation tasks and retain the corresponding drawing and material revisions. Production inspection, packaging and feeding requirements should follow the approved basis.
Documents are supplied within the agreed scope. Requests for third-party reports or specific tests should identify their requirements and applicable scope during quotation and sample planning.
Certificates and Test Documents
Quality and environmental management certificates address organizational systems; material test reports address their stated test scope. Read each document against its coverage and your project requirements.
