DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS

Specify the material and finish

  • Specify the stainless steel grade and condition; appearance alone does not establish the material.
  • Evaluate body forming and joining conditions with the actual geometry and assembly method.
  • Define surface finish and operating environment separately from the base-material designation.

DRAWINGS & REQUIREMENTS

Information for material selection

  • The material specification for the stainless steel grade and condition, or the options still open for discussion.
  • Drawings and thickness information relevant to body forming and joining conditions.
  • The requirements for surface finish and operating environment and any material or inspection documents needed.

Sampling before production

Agree on the drawing, manufacturing route and sample scope first. Use the sample to check fit, assembly and the tests required by your project, then confirm the production drawing, inspection plan and packaging.

Samples are paid. Standard samples: 3–5 days. Expedited sampling: 48 hours. Tooling and sample production: 7–10 days. These are sample-stage timings and do not include mass-production delivery; availability and the schedule are confirmed for each project.

TOOLING & SAMPLE VALIDATION

Tooling decisions behind
Stainless Steel EMI Shield.

Ruishuo makes tooling in-house, connecting die design and CAD/CAM simulation with stamping and inspection. The tooling route for your part is reviewed against the agreed drawing, material and assembly requirements.

Match the tooling review to the specified material.

Material choice affects how a shield is formed and how its finished interfaces are assessed. Specify the exact grade, sheet thickness and finish before agreeing the tooling route. A material name by itself does not define the finished dimensions, spring behavior or coating allowance, and acceptance criteria should not be transferred automatically from a different alloy or thickness.

  • Confirm the material designation, thickness and required finish on the drawing.
  • Identify the formed features and mating surfaces whose final condition matters.
  • Agree whether critical measurements apply before or after the specified surface treatment.

Use the sample report to close the drawing review.

Paid samples include a full dimensional inspection report. Ruishuo's inspection equipment includes 2.5D vision measurement systems, CMMs and profile projectors; measurement methods and any additional functional checks are selected for the project. Incoming, in-process and outgoing inspections support the agreed requirements as the part moves into production.
